Aschaffenburg, 27. February 2013 - What does the "site architect" bayernhafen Aschaffenburg contribute to the Lower Main region in Bavaria? This was the question that concerned Thomas Mütze, member of the Bavarian State Assembly and transport policy spokesman for the parliamentary group Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, when he visited bayernhafen Aschaffenburg on 22. February.

Wolfgang Filippi, manager of bayernhafen Aschaffenburg, showed Thomas Mütze how bayernhafen Aschaffenburg is integrated in the transport networks via three modes of transport and what the prospects are for attracting more freight transport to the port in the future and also briefed him on the current structure of the industry and future priorities of port development.

Thomas Mütze praised the plans for the future of the port: "As a site architect, bayernhafen Aschaffenburg represents a strategic driving force. Through sustainable development of freight transport and by taking sound business models into account, bayernhafen Aschaffenburg will continue to safeguard its role as an economic power house in the Lower Main region of Bavaria.
