Aschaffenburg, July 28, 2014 – Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democrats, Markus Rinderspacher, and his party colleagues Martina Fehlner, member of the Bavarian Parliament, together with Aschaffenburg’s mayor Jürgen Herzing and alderman Walter Roth visited the port of Aschaffenburg. Serving some refreshments, port director Wolfgang Filippi explained to the approximately 20 cyclists the structure of the bayernhafen group and the importance of the port. “A well developed infrastructure is extremely important for all companies located in the port area as well as for our clients in the region,” Filippi pointed out.

During the following tour through the port area the projects registered with the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan played were on the agenda: The scheduled expansion of the B26 and B469 roads, the dredging of the Main river and the electrification of the port railroad were the important points of discussion. A visit to the wood processing company Pollmeier completed the Red Cyclists’ tour.
