Transport Accessibility

The River Main connects Aschaffenburg’s port with the commercial centres of the trans-European water transport network as well as with the north western European ports (the ARA harbours i. e. Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam) and with the Black Sea.

The central railway station of Aschaffenburg connects the harbour with the Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Mainz and Würzburg rail junctions, thus connecting it with the rail network of Deutsche Bahn AG (the German national railway company and a private joint stock company). The different areas of operation of Deutsche Bahn AG are contractually obliged to grant access to the port.

The A3 und A45 federal motorways reach the peripheries of the regional metropolis of Aschaffenburg.

Frankfurt International Airport, Europe’s largest cargo airport, can be reached from bayernhafen Aschaffenburg in 30 minutes.
